Production Underway in Southern California from Filmmaker Veronica Rodriguez and Writing Duo Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan
Live Nation Studios announced today that production has begun on the horror-comedy film Youth Juice, featuring Gideon Adlon (Euphoria, Blockers), Luna Blaise (Jurassic World, Manifest), Simon Rex (Red Rocket) and Jay Hernandez (Magnum P.I.). The film is currently shooting in Southern California.
Youth Juice is directed and produced by Veronica Rodriguez, whose upcoming Camp Rock 3 marks the highly anticipated return of Disney’s beloved franchise. The film is written and produced by Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan, writers of Netflix’s Academy Award winning film, KPop Demon Hunters, marking their first live-action feature.
Luna (Blaise) and Beni (Adlon), two best friends, are terrified of growing old and travel to Palm Springs to reclaim their vitality. Youth Juice is a creepy satire about aging and how far people will go to stop getting older.

The film is produced by Jorge Garcia Castro for Altered.LA, Pete Corona for Ruta Media, Will Russell-Shaprio, alongside executive producers Ryan Kroft and Michael Rapino with producers Stella Bulochnikov, Robin Rapino and Pat Lambert for Live Nation Studios, Chris Abernathy and Eric B. Fleischman for The Wonder Company.
“We’re thrilled to be working with creatives who elevate pop culture. We are so impressed with Veronica’s provocative vision and stylistically disruptive choices as well as Danya and Hannah’s monumental work turning ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ into a global phenomenon,” said Kroft, Head of Film & Television, Live Nation Studios, “‘Youth Juice’ is wildly entertaining, sharp in its point of view and completely original. It’s exactly the kind of artists-driven project we’re excited to champion as we continue to grow Live Nation Studios.”
“I’m making something sexy, funny, and scary. A film that’s both entertaining and unsettling, about the strange things people do to feel young,” said Rodriguez.
“We wrote this during the pandemic, when we were both approaching 25, wasting away our youth indoors, going from miss to ma’am. At the time, it felt like a horror movie.” said Jimenez and McMechan.
