As we fight to change systems, we also have to make sure the next generation has the knowledge, resources, and relationships they need.” – Prophet, Co-Founder/President/CEO, BMAC
“It’s not just about education, and it’s not just about networking. It’s about building community and creating a true pathway to opportunity in the industry.” – Chloe Wilder, Director of School of Live
Over the course of the week, 20 participants came together in Los Angeles from cities big and small across the country and gained practical experience across the live entertainment industry, exploring everything from talent booking and marketing to finance, venue operations, ticketing, fan experience, and more. Through hands-on learning and conversations with industry leaders, they gained an inside look at the many teams that bring live events to life, leaving with a broader understanding of the industry and a clearer vision for where they could build their careers. Following the program, each member of this year’s cohort was invited to apply for paid, part-time internships at Live Nation, where continued support from both BMAC and Live Nation helps turn that vision into real career opportunities.
“There are a lot of music industry programs out there that help young professionals get their start. The impact that BMAC has is like none other. The personal and professional development, the support, the resources. You have mentors that are willing to follow up with you, check in with you, and not gatekeep information. You can’t beat that.” – Joshua C. Gray, BMAC Live Accelerator Program Cohort 3
One of the week’s defining experiences was the opportunity to learn directly from Live Nation leaders and industry professionals who shared honest insights into their career journeys, lessons learned, and the realities of working in live entertainment. Conversations with Live Nation executives across booking, marketing, venues, fan services, recruitment, and HR, alongside fireside chats with BMAC Co-Founder, President & CEO Prophet and leaders from Parkwood Entertainment, Interscope Records, Creative Artists Agency, Inspire1st Management, Category 1 Entertainment, and ART@WAR Entertainment, gave participants the chance to ask candid questions, build meaningful connections, and hear firsthand how successful careers are built in the industry.
“I remember thinking, “How did I get here?” I started as a coordinator. Within a year and a half I became a director. The imposter syndrome was real. I kept asking myself, “Do I really belong here?” Then I started looking back at the work I’d done. Brian McKnight. Slipknot. Ne-Yo. Akon. Now I’m working on stadium tours. I realized… I do belong here.” – Patricia Moore, Ticketing Director, Live Nation
